Hello people!!
A little about me: my dance life started with ballroom dance during college and after that I moved to Boston, found salsa, and enjoyed the fun and energy of the salsa clubs for a few years. About a year ago I got bitten by the tango bug BAD and there was no going back…all other forms of dance ceased to have meaning, and I am continually amazed at the joy and peace I find in tango. Tango has enriched my life and through it I’ve met so many truly wonderful and inspiring people. Hopefully our tool will empower dancers around the world to do the same.

Coming soon: Salsa
Posted by Henry in New Features, News on March 10th, 2009
Hey everyone,
We’ve got some pretty exciting news: we are going to create a similar wiki-map for the Salsa community.
To help manage that front, we’ve invited Sarah Jacob to join our “Team Awesome”. She’ll be posting her introduction shortly, but I just wanted to get you excited for our next version of the site.
In the meantime, we are working on translating KnowTango to Spanish and redesigning the entire layout. Much is on the horizon!
Dancing is fun, so why do anything else?

Off to a great start
Hi everyone! We’re really excited by the positive response we’ve gotten so far to the site.
I’m Laurel and I’m really excited to be working on KnowTango.com because of its potential to bring together tango dancers and communities from around the world. It’s exciting to be experiencing this time of growth for tango — especially the unique opportunities now available to travel and meet tangueros from all over.
I’ve loved tango since I first went to Argentina. I love the dancing of course - but also the music, the poetry of the lyrics and the way they express Argentinidad. Currently I’m working on memorizing lyrics to some commonly played songs so I can do more than mumble a couple words of the refrain.
Please come back to KnowTango often to add more events and find out about all we have planned. Hasta la proxima!
Hey hey hey everybody!
Welcome to our blog, and thanks for checking out our newly created tool for the tango community!
I would like to thank all of you who have been visiting our site and sending positive reactions as well as constructive criticism. Please keep them coming, and keep reporting any bugs you may find - over time we will work them out and create several cool new features for you!
A couple things about me: I’m Argentine, so please excuse my English language mistakes. I’m a trained musician (I have two degrees in classical guitar performance) and I am an open-source, standards-compliant web designer and overall Geek. I’m a milonguero -a social dancer, and my favorite tango style is the Salon style, as danced in places like Villa Urquiza by some of my most influential tango teachers.
I’ll leave you for now with a video of one of my teachers, Daniel Nacucchio, with his partner Cristina Sosa:

Hey Facebook tangueros and tangueras,
Thanks to all of you who have been pinging and emailing us with your support. It’s great to hear so much positive feedback after all our hard work …
If you like us enough, you can become a fan on our KnowTango facebook page.
Or even better, every time you sneak a peak at our site you’ll update your status (even if it’s only for 30 sec!) so you can let everyone else know. The sooner we get the word out, the sooner this becomes a complete and comprehensive resource for our worldwide community.
More on the way later!
Let’s get this party started!
I like tango. A lot. I’m guessing you probably do too … so go contribute at our brand spanking new KnowTango.com!
Anyone can find, add or edit events quickly and efficiently — it automatically updates the second you hit save. We aren’t saying anything yet, but we are working on many more cool free functions on top of what already exists. If you’re interested in helping out, check out our contact page for more information.
There is much more to be said and done but in lieu of an introduction check out some of my favorite dancers: Federico & Ines to Biagi
